Hello, I'm Hari!

Harippriya Rasendran, Speech Therapist

​

Hari graduated with Honours in a Masters of Speech Pathologist from Curtin University. Since then she has gained valuable experience working at the Ability Centre with children and young adults with a range of developmental concerns. Here she specialised in speech, language, literacy, social skills, voice disorders, mealtimes and AAC. Prior to this she has worked in a private Speech Therapy practice where she was focusing primarily on school-age children's speech, language, narrative development, and literacy skills.

Hari also holds a Bachelor of Science with Major in Applied Mathematics and Minor in Sociology! Smart cookie! During her university years she developed skills in working with children as a speech therapy assistant, a relief teaching assistant, and as a maths tutor.

​

Hari has been a mentor at Curtin University, supporting students with Austism. She's also completed internships in Singapore as a teaching assistant in educational support, as well as with a migrant support programme.

​

Ongoing education is important to Hari - she has completed and range of additional qualifications including: Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talk, Sounds Write,

Hari is also bilingual – speaking English and Tamil.

Hari's Story

Hari is committed in working with families in supporting children and young people to develop confidence and skills to enhance their wellbeing and to thrive in their education and communities. Outside of work, Hari enjoys being active in nature and developing her passion for art. 

​

​When we asked Hari what drove her to be a Speech Therapist she said, "I enjoy working in a profession where I feel I can have a meaningful impact on families and children’s wellbeing and quality of life".
